UNLV’s Opera Workshop II presents excerpts from Act 1 of Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Act 3 of Massenet’s Werther.
Così fan tutte is one of Mozart’s most famous operas and a comedic masterpiece. It tells the story of two sisters and their fiancés.
Werther’s Act 3 explores the torment of a woman named Charlotte and her complicated relationship with Werther. Although she loves him, she is married to another man, Albert. Werther’s obsession with Charlotte continues to grow, despite her marriage, and Act 3 culminates with him asking to borrow Albert’s pistols.
